Teams not participating in the league that the Reserves played in- cluded New Boston, Portsmouth East. Central Catholic, and Western Rural. In mid-season, a preliminary game to Dayton Roosevelt was played with Valley: this netted our boys a win of 18-14. At the end of the season they were defeated by Valley in the Western Reserve Tourney at Lucasville, largely because our hrst string reserves had been moved up to the varsity for tournament action. Cotton Davis and Paul Schwambcrger were high scorers. their work being backed up in Fine style by guards Bill Singleton and Brownie Davis and center Red Bellomy. These boys played four games with Wheelersburg, two with Clay and the varsity team of South Portsmouth, and one each with South Webster and a P.H.S. gym team. During the season Redfurn Bellomy, Harold Cooper, and Elmo Smalley were advanced to the Reserve squad.
