TAG AOWJ, WA2225, End WAY! of ?2ln0C ZdCy 4, 1 THE SOCIAL A STUDIES AMERICAN HISTEIRY x Mn. CHRISTIAN WDRLD HIETURY ' DEMOCRACY AND EIVIC5 wa- Mn. FENTUN WURLD HISTIIRY MRS. DAVENPURT Nr. Christian Mr. Fenton It has often been said that history repeats itself. From the beginning of time, there have been wars. Always there has been chaos for both victim and victor. IS there really a victor in any war? One aim of the social science department is to show students the mistakes made in governments and civilizations of the past with the hope that these students will help build a better world in the future. The various classes cover nearly every period in the development of civilization. World history is required in the sophomore year. American history, a junior subject, concerns the growth of our nation. Finally, in American government, American democracy, Civics, and economics, the specific problems of a democratic government are discussed. These subjects will be of priceless value to the American of the future, for the students of today are the citizens of tomorrow. W. Wolery and R. Tipton, A. History Scholarship W. NVilliams and D.
