Inehlenlorianl Adele Falk lived with a calmness of spirit and a world of other blessings attending on it, a nature so truly noble and serene that it became more conspicuous in times of unhappiness and ill fortune. In Miss Falk the school lost a superior teacher and a re- markable woman. In her associations at Washington High School she always shared responsibility gladly. In her personal affairs she met difficulty with gallantry and courage. And with- out awareness of all she was conferring, she gave time, interest, inspiration to many pupils -her rarest gift. In Tribute Washington pays tribute to four of its finest prompters whose services have made a lasting impres- sion in the program notes of our school. The art department lost a worthy member when Miss Amy Beyer resigned. Tonians remember her for those many successful Toppers shows put on under her direction, and for her art supervision of the Yearbook. German and history were Mr. Arno Froehlich's forte, but many former students remember him even better as the man who directed them to many tennis victories, History came to life under Miss Evelyn Purdy's fine touch, and the lives of many young men and women were enriched by her wise and kindly counseling. As senior English teacher, head of the English department, and a member of the graduation com- mittee, Miss Strohm was familiar to many seniors. Few students realize, however, that Washington Players have her to thank for the club's organization and successful start. We salute these prompters who devoted so many years of their lives to young people and their education. 9
