With the aid of his guidance, a Wide variety of clubs Was organized and authorized. From a nucleus of four, of yesteryear, We now have some sixteen clubs, all Working, all striving, all competing to find some latent ability in the students of Washington. And after this ability is found, We find them again striving to develop and exer- cise this quality that has lain concealed. No matter What this ability may be, from taking Washington provides the club for its developiiij ment. But these qualities must be molded Qandig shaped with the proper guidance. For so long under Mr. Balzer,s general coaching, these clubs have flourished with such themes as German Culture, t'Life in Old Rome, or a better understanding of the Spanish- speaking peoples. Films, songs, skits, and games are responsible for many entertaining and instruc- tive gatherings. As part of the high educational standard, the clubs have now become an integral part of extra-curricular activities.
