, Four years ago a new group of cub reporters Qfreshmenj entered the pressroom fWashington High Schoolj for the first time. Before them were four years of training which was a requirement for their own first by-line Cdiplomaj. This is the class of 1958. Miss DeEtte Knowlton was appointed class advisor and has been a constant help and guide to us. She was not only an advisor, but a friend fo whom we could come when we were troubled. We wish to . express our gratitude and appreciation for her help. In general terms we were not any different from any previous classes. ' We elected ofhcers and staged special events like all other classes before us. In our sophomore year we chose our first class ofiicers: Don Kieger, president, Gerald Godfrey, vice president, Kurt Dey, secretary, and Corrine Ulbrich, treasurer. In our junior year we chose a new set of officers: Dennis Gilson, president, Kathleen Zangs, vice president, Geraldine Trantham, secretary, and Kurt Dey, treasurer. We also sponsored the junior- Senior Prom, a very successful affair with the Theme Dreams This brings us toward the end of our training, our preparation is nearly complete. We have one more year, this is the final step before our by-lines. As our officers this year we have chosen Patricia Hennessey, president, Micheal Alcott, vice president, Marcelia Orlando, secretary, and Marylyn Weber, treasurer. Our Homecoming festivities were reigned over by Her Majesty Colleen Grifiith and King Kurt Dey. Also in this full and final year we have presented our Senior Class Play, Life with Father. We entered the press room as cubs to complete our four years of training. Now we have our by-linen and are ready to meet the deadline. This is not the end but the beginning. For now we will go forth into life to publish our own first editions.
