VARSITY ELEVE With Coach Archie Skalbeck and Co-Captains Phil Taconita and Dave Skalbeck leading the 1955-56 Prexies, Washington ended its season on the gridiron with a record of three wins, three losses, and one tie. The squad improved steadily during the season and pro- vided a thrilling 14-7 win over Humboldt in the annual Homecoming battle. John Erickson secured the quarterback spot on the All-City first team while Bob Olson and Dave Skalbeck placed on the second team. Winning was not the only objective. Coach Skalbeck did a wonderful job of teaching the boys fair play and of building strong, sound character needed to make good American citizens. Co-Captains Dave Skalbeck, left, and Phil Toconila.
