Our firsf proiecf was a baskefball game befween fhe sfudenfs and faculfy. Anofher projecf was a movie. Parf of fhe proceeds from fhese evenfs were used for a picnic af Phalen Park, which ended our memorable sophomore year's calendar of evenfs. ln our junior year we were exfremely acfive. We began fhis fhird acf of our play by selecfing our class rings and elecfing fhe following officers: Ronald McCollar, presidenf: Sfeve Lapadaf, vice presi- denfg Janice Godfrey, secrefary: and Marilyn Ziniel, freasurer. To raise producfion money for fhe class we sold Chrisfmas cards and sfaged fhe Junior Review, direcfed by Marlene Noe. A climacfic momenf in our fhird acf was fhe I953 Junior Prom held on May I9, in fhe Arizona Room of ,fhe Prom Ballroom. The success of our Prom was evidence fhaf fhe class of '54 was full of spirif and inifiafive. The grand march was led by Ronald McCollar and his guesf, Audrey Anderson. Our final acf as Washingfon Prexies holds many unforgeffable memories. Wifh Chrisf Thompson, presidenfg lrene Hannon, vice presidenf: Rosemary Gaisbauer, secrefaryg and Scoff Koch, freasurer, leading our class, we made plans for a gala Homecoming celebrafion. Following fhe assembly and parade on Ocfober 9, and fhe foofball game and dance in fhe evening, reig ned over by Queen Marianne Younghans and King Milce Muellner, crifics praised fhe smoofhly-run fe s f i v i f i e s. Then came Snow Day, wifh fhe King and Queen of fhe g Sf. Paul W i n f e r Carnival iii., ioining our regal assembly fo crown our royalfy, Queen Wanda Van Kampen and King Alfred Madigan. Ofher unforgeHable evenfs w e r e fhe dramafic senior class play, Home Sweef Homi- cide held April 9, and fhe evenfful fhree-day Chicago frip. Evenfs as fhe curfain descended in June were fhe Senior Dress-up Day, Senior Assembly, and Senior Pic- nic. Alfhough fhe drama af E Washingfon has ended for us, fhe memory will linger on.
