Roger Weyandt Senior class president and his fellow offi cers Marlys Bring treasurer Joan Klrchoff secretary and Louise Muellner vlce presl dent have worked hard o ganlzmg the many activities of the class during their last year Much credit too IS giv en Mrs Mary Hafner who graciously a s s u m e d Mr Mearle Nestebys responslblll ties as advisor when he left to enlist in the army They have well and we extend to them our thanks .---I eI'll0I 5 Fe U10 f 2 ldafit AOL fo fA8 lfltlfllae Today as we semors look back over our four years at Washington we treasure many fond memories Together with gaming an education we have made many friends and have had many good times Although we did get a somewhat belated start In our sophomore year we finally organ ized our class with Mr Mearle Nesteby as our advisor With his help we planned a boat rlde on the Donna Mae as our first prolect Dancing on the main deck and card playing on the up per deck provided most of the entertainment Getting into full swing in our Junior year we sponsored an all school Christmas card sale and loaned by the seniors we sold magazines to help raise money for the Prom During our first meeting of the year we elected our officers Joe Dabe, president, Francis Kavanaugh, vice president, Phyllis Hoffman, secretary, and Charles Welck, treasurer Next on the agenda was the Christmas as sembly. The traditional Christmas story, The Christmas Carol, was presented In a one act play Earl Fritz played the part of Scrouge very convincingly Joyce Matchlna as a Christmas doll did a toe dance About this time Mr Nesteby left and Mrs Mary Hafner took over Another successful en terprise of our class was the Amateur Hour sponsored annually by the Juniors with Joe Dabe as Master of Ceremonies Then ending the busy year with a flourish was the Junior Senior Prom held at the Prom Ballroom Joe Dabe Junior Class president and his guest Mil dred Kramer led the Grand March Seniors at last' Starting off a series of many important events of our last year was Homecom Ing King Roger Weyandt and Queen Patricia Joyce reigned over the festlvlties and our foot ball team treated us to a T9 7 victory over Hum boldts eleven. The Senior Class Play, Captain Applelack, was presented on Dec 14. Amid the many preparations for graduation were senior dress up day, senior assembly, and the class day picnic.
