Festivities began with the colorful Coronation Assembly on Tuesday, October 2, when Patricia Joyce and Roger Weyandt were crowned Homecoming queen and king, On Thursday night our football team treated us to a real victory when they overpowered Humboldt's eleven, T9 to 7. Consequently everyone was in good spirits at the dance on Friday evening. The king and queen gracefully danced a waltz and then were joined by hundreds of Washingtonites and alumni who thoroughly enjoyed themselves throughout the evening. ff 594 op l-lon econ ing cond dates and tlcerr Marlys Brings Francis Kavanagh Patricia Joyce Charles Wiecx Center King Roger Weyandt and Queen Jo om J r use ue: If 1 y E y on Roy Oake Patricia Bray at Georg Fahey Page t I .HV T 1: vs, l ffw Cnty se en l f. l It tv' 5' J' X' o wr , M Q ft 4 r nl- T ' . It was educational as well, for no one had imagined how ter- rific the heat from the lights could be. Every- one was dressed as gypsies, except those students who had the leading parts. The costumes were very gay and colorful, and therefore suited the music extremely well. All this added to the charm ofthe operetta. A choir is a selected group. Members are chosen for their ability to sing in a choral group and to sing part music. One year of music is usually necessary to be eligible for A choir. Tryouts are held for those who want to belong to A choir. Anyone with an outstand- ing talent may be selected without any previous train- ing. The otticers are: Mike Neudauer, presidentg Paul Skibicki, vice-presidentg Florence Taack, secretaryp Carol Ann Deutsch, accompanist and librarian. The A choir practices during fourth period.
