CLASS MEMORIES We entered the huge Oconto Falls Hsgh School on September 6 1949 as 121 characters achsevsng our long awasted dream of besng green Fresh men We were forever gettsng lost wsth the help of upperclassmen We vowed that when we get p there wed be ksnd to Freshman I guess we have a short memory Some of us were wondersng why the teachers were contsnuously asksng us to ssgn our name on a lsttle whste slsp of paper We came to the conclusson that they wanted our auto graph When we got around to thsnksng of our selves as a class rather than sndsvsduals we chose Jerry Redman to lead us as our pressdent Davsd Nelson served as vsce pressdent Allen Kopczynsks took down the msnutes of our green and nossy meetsngs and Patsy Beckendof took care of our growsng bank account The Freshman class had enough talent to put on a talent show whsch we dsd March 14 It sncluded the play Hss Fsrst Shave and many snstrumental and vocal solos and duets The proceeds were used towards purchassng the new stage curtasns We dsd our share of the work when st came Homecomsng tsme The theme of our float was Well lsck Sturgeon Bay By September 1950 we were happy to gsve up our Chlorophyll msnds and become yellow soph omores We started out by electsng our offscers whsch by a strange cosncsdence were all boys' Wsl lard Allen resgned as pressdent Tom Kussow was hss rsght hand man Davsd Nelson recorded our successes and faslures whsle Jsm Magnm gave us the money to work wsth We put on the Thanks gsvsng program conssstsng of a play whsch was a huge success We worked hard dursng homecom sng and the theme of our float was Vsctory Comes Defeat Goes We ordered our class rsngs and couldnt wast for thesr arrsval Before we knew st we were sunsors We started a successful year by electsng Joan Tssch as our press dent wsth Tom Kussow as vsce pressdent Dan Desreumaux took down the msnutes of our sm portant meetsngs and Mary Scheffel kept track of all our bslls Homecomsng plans were sn order We had the tradstsonal Homecomsng dance and our Queen s float took Hrst place for beauty st really was a beauty too We started early wsth Prom plans We wanted a change sn the usual decoratson so we planned a msnsature ballroom and as our theme Csnderella Dan Desreumaux and Pat Machursck helped fulf1ll our long antscspatson of thss besng one of the nscest proms ever held at O F H S It truly was the most beautsful ssght of 1952 as Bub Tssch and Donna Murphy crowned Pat and Dan Csnderella and Prsnce Charmsng The Prom was a Success and a ssght that wsll lsnger always sn our memory Our dream of besng sensors for the last three years ss finally a realsty We chose Tom Kussow to do the speaksng for us Bsll Fsnlan was elected to help hsm Sue Brasnerd served us loyally as our Secretary and Dan Desreumaux handled our money Our sensor year was one excstsng event from the very begsnnsng to the very end We took second place on our float for Homecomsng sts slogan besng The Fall of DePere It was decorated wsth fall leaves and everythsng to make an attractsve float and remand you of Autumn After that one thsng came rsght after another Graduatson psctures tne Chrsstmas party electsng candsdates for the DAR award ordersng cards and announcement cards Sensor Sksp day our work on The Panther tl e class play and our adventureous class trsp to Chscago are all very pleasant memorses to each one of us The day came whsch we had worked and dreamed of for four long years Graduatson Oft tsmes we had called our teachers pests but now we are thankful that they encouraged us to study as much as they dsd We may have quarrelled among ourselves about the decoratsons sn the Gym our class colors and many other thsngs but we know they are our frsends frsends that we dont lske to leave behsnd We look back over the years between our f1rst days as a freshman and our last day as a sensor They have gsven us frsendshsps and memorses thsngs more smportant than that psece of paper ssgned by the supersntendent Page Twenty s . . , . 1 1 . - 11 11 1 HU . . 11 1 - 11 - 11 ' . . ,, . . . ,, - 11 11 - - - , . . . ,, . . ,, . . . , . 1 - - - 11 11 - 11 1 - 11 - 1 1 - 1 - 11 11 I - A - ' 1 . , . . . , . . . . . . ,, ,, ' 1 1 1 . .
