I 64.74 pefkd v ECHO One Act Play Contest This contest was open to every high school in Wisconsin The number of high schools participating in the league contests was one hundred s1x This number was whittled at prog December 10 The Oconto Falls group was one of the twelve selected Our play Echo received four A ratings in four different contests the league contest at Kewaunee, the district contest at Shawano the sectional contest at Stevens Point and the state contest Much credit is due to the able coach Mr Kremer Although Mr Kremer hasn t had too much experience in the dramatics line he has proven himself very capable To Miss Sroor goes the credit for makeup Although she was unable to accompany the cast to all the contests,her advice and demonstratlons resulted in many compliments from various Judges Through chance four members of the cast are semors who undoubtly shall be watching the dramatics club of Oconto Falls in the future The Cast 1S as follows Jim Tomlin The Father Mary Ellen Zippel The Mother Barbara Bartz The Daughter Carl Peters The Son Dean Thome The Voice of Conscience 50 I f - ' A .fi A A LV X1 .J 0 : t K K f ressing contests until only twelve remained for the final which was held at Madison, on

Both non conference games were lost. The season s final game was with Sturgeon Bay. Those who missed that game missed the game of the year. lf the Falls had come out of this game with a victory there would have been a three way tie for first place The game ended in a tie and gave Sturgeon Bay the undis puted championship. Depere took second and the Falls had to settle for third Twenty four seniors completed their football careers for the Falls and seventeen of these were letter winners. Theyare: J. Bain W. Bartz R Behringer R. Bramschreiber I. Cross O. Fonders R. Hertwig L Kamke W. Kardoskee R. Marquardt R Peterson F. Poradek R Radke B Rickel M. Steffens L Unverrich and G. Wessley. Francis Poradek received the most valuable player award and Buzz Kamke was elected honorary captain. The captain for nineteen fifty has not been elected but the three candidates are D Larson D.
