Members of the Glendale Union High School District Board of Education are Mr. Arthur Sine, member, Mr. Don Sanderson, member, Mrs. Graydon B. Hall, president, Mr. John F. Long, clerk, and Dr. Joseph P. Voorhees, member. Education Is Their Chief Concern Members of the Glendale Union High School District Board of Education have developed the habit of thinking big because of the ever increasing enrollment in district schools. Within the last decade, three new high schools have been added to the district. These additions have necessitated the hiring of new teachers, the buying of additional land, and an immense amount of planning and predicting. With the passage of the school bond in February, plans can now go ahead with the con- struction of a new school in Deer Valley and with additions and improvements to existing schools. Working without pay, these devoted members deserve much credit for their thoughtful han- dling of district problems which has helped maintain the GUHS System's high level of achieve- ment. District administrators and employees handle a variety of school problems ranging from the construction of new schools to the purchase of paper clips. Headed by Superintendent Melvin Zin- ser, the administrative staff coordinates the operation of high schools in the Glendale Union High School District. The coordinating efforts of the district officers have resulted in Glendale schools being rated among the top in Arizona. Constantly planning for the future, the district officers are instrumental in planning for new schools, hiring of outstanding personnel, providing a comprehensive curric- ulum, and operating at a minimum cost while still maintaining a high level of education.
