From the first grade to the Senior year the students, working, studying, and playing together, formed many friendships. We carried out a number of projects which enabled us to un¬ derstand and enjoy our friendships with our classmates more thoroughly. It was a glorious day in our Junior year when we were measured for our class rings to signify that we were rising Seniors. We set our diligently to sell magazines for we knew that the profit from these sales would go for our first Junior-Senior banquet and dance. The Junior-Senior banquet brought about a heartfelt fellowship between the two classes. The dance continued this fellowship with the gathering of all Juniors and Sen¬ iors and their dates. Little did we know when we struggled over our short stories that the next year we would be faced with research papers. The top eleven in our class, scholastically, were chosen marshals. Click, went the camera and the line moved on as the annual pictures were taken for die first major event of the Senior year. We established a new practice this year by having a Senior council composed of two room representatives from each of the Senior homerooms. The Senior council planned projects and activities under the guidance of the advisors and with the approval of the faculty. We chose our class officers on our last year of school to lead us toward higher goals. Along with our officers we elected our mascots. To receive a superlative is a real honor. Superlatives were chosen by the Senior Class. The highlight of the Thanksgiving season was the Coronation Ball which everyone enjoyed. Our Senior Play was the dramatic achievement of the year. Wash¬ ington, D. C. was the destination of the Senior trip where we did much sightseeing in the capital of our nation. We were the honored guests at the Junior-Senior banquet and dance. We had a splendid time because of the effort of the Juniors. Those of us who were talented, participated in various activities provided by the clubs, sports, and organizations of our school. A well-remembered day was examination day when we toiled over puzzling questions and blank sheets of paper. As time marched on it drew us nearer to our graduation. It was a day of honor to the Seniors as we capped our successors during this traditional ceremony which was held in the gymnasium. At the end of our Senior year we have one day in which to be a kid again. We traveled to Atlantic Beach to enjoy the sun and surf on our Kid ' s Day. The Senior class was led in worship at our Baccalaureate Sermon. The inspirational address strengthened our ideals and goals for the future. None of us will ever forget the thrill of appearing on stage during our class night. The long awaited day had come for us to graduate. Our hopes and fears sounded in our hearts as we each received our diplomas. The singing of the Alma Mater with heartfelt enthusiasm brought to a close our graduation, and to an end our happy High School Days. We went well over the top in our magazine sales. This enabled us to bring outer space into the gym and cafeteria for an unforgettable Junior-Senior. Some of us were honored for our scholastic records by being tapped into the Beta Club during an impressive ceremony. Some of us were again honored through these records by being elected marshals. This year we ' ve had a hand in racking up the points for our school by being members of the Varsity football, basketball, baseball, and track teams. As Cheerleaders we ' ve kept the school spirit running high. As Juniors we can easily be identified by our gorgeous blue and gold class rings. They are really something special. Indeed the climax of this year was the capping ceremony. Now we certainly are dignified SENIORS. Writ¬ ing our first articles for the PAMLICOAN, dissecting frogs, and earthworms, helping teachers through the Future Teachers ' Club, and taking the Drivers’ Training Course have really kept us busy. Naturally, the highlight of this year was serving as waiters and waitresses at the Junior-Senior Banquet. We made quite an invasion from outer space! Interested, aren’t they?
