FRED RGEMER s - - ik. Every graduating senior has a great many cherished memories-of classes and classmates, teachers and activities. Every W. l-l. S. graduate will always hold dear the memory of one who did so much to weave their high school story harmoniously into its unforgettable pattern. Capable, good-natured, con- siderate Fred Roemer has given all the lives with which he has come in contact a part of his inner glow. Directing the Christmas and Spring Concerts, producing an operetta tri- annually, and preparing band and chorus members for the two Spring Music Festivals are only a part of his endless responsibilities as music director. We, the class of 1956, are proud to dedicate our Neshotah Annual to Mr. Fred Roemer. Page 5 Congratulations on having achieved a major step in the process of your formal education. An article written by J. C. Penney on How My Faith l'las l-lelped Me, contains a paragraph which best expresses my sentiments to you on this occasion, lf l could get a message over to the youth of this country, it would be that success in life does not de- pend on genius. Any person of normal intelligence, who is morally sound, above board in his dealings, and not afraid of worlc, should succeed in spite of obstacles and handicaps, il he plays the game squarely and lceeps everlastingly at it. The possibilities before one are measured by the determination which is within one.'f Sincerely yours, l'l. G. Knudtson, Supt. Mr. Earl G. Kro , P ' cipal of Washington Fiqh gblhool page 6 Mr. H. G, Knudtson, Superintendent of Public Schools Two Rivers, Wisconsin It is gratifying to lcnow that a yearboolt staff has de- voted an issue to one of the important divisions of our school curriculum-music. Music plays an important part in our life'not only in school but in life after graduation as well. ln school it is a part of almost every activity from athletics with our pep songs, to a musical production which is the result of the cooperation of all departments of the school. Christmas concerts, music festivals, choral sing- ing, madrigal groups, ensembles, even our singing as a school participating in the patriotic ritual all add to the spiritual values of our education. As a training for life, music for many will be a means of earning a livelihood, but for most of us it will be a means to a fuller lifegone that malces our living more enjoyable. May the inspiration from your musical experiences of Washington l-ligh School be a source of joy and happi- ness in your life after graduation. Earl G. Kromer You are all welcome in Room 103 especially when you need a little help, whether it is a pin, a loan for forgotten bus fare or lunch money, or advice on your future career. f-lere is our guid- ance corner with a full racl4 of career material, college catalogs, nursing bulletins and other literature to acquaint you with the many openings for women in the professions and other fields of worlt after high school. l feel that every girl should plan early so that her high school diploma will open the door to the school of her choice. That means selecting the right course now. l shall be very happy to help you, and hope that you will drop in often during your years at Washington f-ligh School.
