After three years ot hard work the seniors begin tying the loose ends and putting the finishing touches to their courses. Those of a commercial bent breeze through ottice practice, stenography, and typ- ing, aviation-minded boys have a diet ot pre- tlight, physics, advanced mathematics, and machine shop, while those intending to go to college busy themselves with English, prob- lems in democracy, or geometry, others pre- ferred the musical atmosphere ot band and chorus or bent their talents to the art and draft- ing classes. All took physical education and struggled through the usual drills and com- mando training. You can always tell a senior by that desperate, last-semester look. That semester is really a busy one: class play, the annual, commence- ment practice, Elk's Constitution Contest, job hunting or getting those deferments. Besides all this there is the heavy social calendar: Senior Farewell, Commencement Dance and Senior Banguvt. Yes, the seniors are a busy group, but they love every minute ot being busy. Next year they will not be backg and although graduation is really the commencement ot a new lite, they will miss the work, fun, and traditions that are Washington High School. ,X f, . f V 2 -' 4, .
