SENIOR CLASS OFFICERS The senior class, the largest class ever to graduate from Washington High School, has a long list of accomplishments in sports, speech work, and extra- curricular activities. Seniors ranked high on the basketball team which placed 5rd in the conference and won the district championship for the first time in 16 years. These senior boys were: F. Antonia, E. Kreisa, O. Perry, P. Shedivy, and P. Thiel. This year there were more seniors to receive football letters than previous years. Nineteen were presented with T's. Again this year as in the Lakeshore Championship. I. Dallmann, V. Gagnon, W. preceding years, the swimming team was able to capture The seniors who helped win this title were: O. Blaha, Gauthier, J. Lahey, and F. Wood. The debate team won 5 Association. Three out of out of 6 debates in the Wisconsin High School Forensic four of the team were seniors: Katherine Hasheck, Betty Delmore, and Betty Jean Querhammer. Betty Jean Querhammer was the first in the history of the Washington High School ever to enter the finals in the N.F.L. in declamation. Norval Dworak placed first in the N. E. Conference in extemporaneous speaking. In extemporaneous read- ing, Betty Delmore won first in the sub-district. Seniors were equally active in extra-curricular activities. Among these ac- tivities were the Annual, consisting of a staff of 57, the Neshotah News with 52 staff membersg the Civic Service Society with one of the largest classes ever with 543 Purple and Gold Society with the usual 10 seniorsg and the Pep Club with its 6 senior members.
