Girls Tennis In her second year as Panther girls ' tennis coach, Ann Dodd worked hard to teach and tone skills necessary to keep Washington High School competitive with other area netters. Inexperience was, as usual, a drawback, but the Panthers served up a 5-10 season, beating LaVille, Mishawaka, Jimtown, LaSalle. and Northbridge. Much was learned to carry over into the 1984 season. Track Track Track Track Track Track Track Track y : ' ' ' ' The 1983 track teams were in the running again, proving their abilities to compete with some of the state ' s best. The boys ' record was 0-9, and the girls finished their season with a 2-8 record. A highlight of the girls ' season was the victory of Kim Kilgore. Although unfortunately Kim was not selected to the Northern Indiana Conference all-conference team, she proudly proved herself by winning a state championship blue ribbon with a gold medal attached to it for her long jump with a 19-3 leap. Panthers were proud and deservedly so. Left: Kim Miller shows good form in her long jump. ck row: Coach GrockeJi. Walter Turner, Tim ' Bond, Eric Pigees.
