In the Regionals the beat Mishawaka and Northwood to win the Regional Championship for the first time since 1974. The team then took a trip to the Semi-State. They played well, but made too many errors and lost the game to LaPorte. In that game, the team caught up and in the seventh inning, tied the score at 3-3, but in the bottom of ' ; ,, .,( ' i. LaPorte was up at bat, and with two out, they scored on a controver- the ball went into the dug-out. B-Team And Freshmen The B-Team Baseball program coached by Larry Jackowiak, had an 11-9 record and a conference record of 9-9. The team had eleven sophomores, one freshman, and one junior who achieved an award at the end of the season. With the winning record posted by the team and with the m any young men contributing to the program, next year should have some bright new faces in the varsity uniforms. The Freshman Baseball team, coached by Bruce Urban, posted a 4-5 record for the sea- son. The team suffered problems early in the Spring, but the team straightened out those problems and came back to have almost a win- ning season. The team showed a lot of chacter and should be proud of the job they did.
