The desire to compete and prove that Washington is number one has always been foremost in the minds of every Panther. Whether it is a highly skilled game of basketball or a knock-down, rough and bruising football evenlt, it is executed for the glory of Washington High School. The State'Football Championship is a well-earned victory that was hard-fought for by our boys this year. Sometimes our opponents are bigger and tougher and are favored over the Panthers, but that makes little difference. The Panther Tradition is pride, spirit, and a never-ending battle to the finish. When the Panther team is down, the spirit they show to claw their way back to the top again is what Panther Pride and Washington High School is all about. The promotion of school spirit starts with the cheerleaders and they have the ability to infect the entire school with enthusiasm. The students give their minds, bodies, and souls to the support of the teams. Whether it is in a pep assembly, or at the actual game, everyone at Washington makes the Green Machine roll. Washington is extremely, proud of the fine staff and faculty which is present at the school. Through the assistance of the teachers Washington has be- come known as a school of high academic stand- ards. Patience and endurance by the staff has promoted a genuine love of knowledge which is present in the student body. Attributing to our fine staff are also those people who take care of all of the paperwork and records of the school as well as running the bookstore for the convenience of the students. The modern facilities in the school aid the process of knowledge greatly, such as the library, laundry, audio visual room, language lab and the cafeteria. The custodians do a fine iob in maintaining the cleanliness of the pool and gym- nasium as well as the large comfortable classrooms. The pool and gymnasium provide a place for stu- dents to develop physical abilities and stamina as well as providing places for social activities to take place in. The industrial arts department maintains modern facilities such as the auto shop, machine shop, and woods shop. Overall Washington has some of the most modern and extensive facilities in the community. . ,wise Y' at ,Q --1 Qi!!
