Art The Art Department of Wash- ington High School is one of the finest in the state. It has ranked very high regionally and nationally in competition and has had many art schol- arship winners. Our Art De- partment offers a wide va- riety of courses, complete with skilled instructors and modern facilities. Basic Art is an introduction to other art fields. Graphics deals with printing and drawing, while Ceramics deals with three dimensional clay work and pottery. Studio Art is a two- hour advanced course, in which the student may ex- periment in the particular areas of his interest. fl iq f ,ex f, , 26 x I

Music Washington's Music Depart- ment is divided into four ma- jor areas. Band students pre- sent concerts, march in pa- rades, and play at athletic events. The Orchestra per- forms several concerts an- nually andthe Glee Club pre- sents Easter and Christmas programs. The Music Appre- ciation class studies compos- ers, great musical works, and the basic mechanics of music.
