Such people as our office workers, teachers, custodi- ans, cafeteria workers, ma- tron, and laundry ladies are all necessary for the effec- tive operation of the school. They receive little recogni- tion, but deserve much cred- it for the way they do their iobs. 1+ NJ .., 1. , hum i f These people are not famous, but for the students, each staff member is an individ- ual who personifies the Washington tradition. The staff, just like the entire school, is constantly grow- ing.

,,-av' Our library is often recog- nized as a place for study, but for the students devoting their Study halls to working there, it is also a Training ground. The materials to be found include such items as microfilm, the Wall Street Journal, Look, 1984, Ro- meo and Juliet, and various books in foreign languages. English As he grows in knowledge, the student must find a means by which he can effectively communicate his ideas to others. The use of his native language can be perfected with the aid of a variety of courses. ln his required English classes, he not only reviews grammatical basics, but studies the works of those who have mastered them, and tries his own hand at writing. He -can elect a course of Drama, Journalism or Speech. As a freshman, he may be enrolled in one of the three experimental two-hour courses of basic language skills. malt
