The gradual growth and improvement of Washington has meant many modern facilities. Our gym, which seats over 3,600 people, has been the site for many basketball sec- tionals. The library, with its fine stock of current material, has recently acquired duplicating equipment, which students as well as teachers are able to use. The machine, wood, and auto shops are all equipped for the best in vocational train- ing. The language classes all have the opportunity to prac- tice listening comprehension and pronunciation in the lan- guage lab. Our science classrooms are among the best in the area. The Washington student finds his days here busy, starting from the moment when he first walks in the doors and continuing throughout each of his high school days. At first he is confronted with large crowds, all apparently headed right for him. He soon, however, participates in school activities, but always remembering the purpose of high school, he takes time to complete his regular studies. There are times when students feel themselves grouped together and generalized, but the Washington faculty sees each of us as individuals and makes adiustments, when pos- sible, according to our personal needs.
