SAPPURII, JA SISTER SClIO0L SAPPORO COMMITTEE Steve Smith, Carolyn Fichtl, Bob Keller, Principal York, Mrs. Rahmes, Miss MacRae, Linda Tweten, Dick Thompson, Sally Arnsberg, jerry Lueb. Washington is distinct in being the only school in the city which has a sister school in another country. Our sister school, Sapporo South High School, is located in Sapporo City on Hokkaido, the Northern most island of the Japanese Archipelago. After organization of the Sapporo Committee in the Spring of 1960 a great many activ- ities have followed. An assembly was presented in November, a. pen pal program or- ganized, and an entire week of activities, assemblies and judo exhibitions in the spring of this year. The bond of good will our country has with Japan is strengthened through programs like ours, and we feel it is very beneficial to all those involved.
