Ruth Tennant Mr. Russell Svaren ,Art Students Develop The art department, under the direction of Miss Tennant and Mr. Svaren, consists of Basic Art, Gen- eral Art 3854, Crafts, which consist of such things as ceramics, leather work, andweaving, and finally Com- mercial Art. Commercial Art 38z4 consists of the mem- bers ofthe art staffwho make many of the posters seen around the school. Nextyear there maybe new courses added to the art department. World a The goal of the social studies is a competent participation, and loyal citi- zenry in a democratic United States of America. The social studies--anthro- pology, economics, geography, govern- ment, history, psychology, and sociol- ogy--are a study of our social heritage and way of life. They share with the other curricular offerings and school activities, as well as with the community and the home, in the development and advancement of our American ideals.
