Mrs. Cooley arranges books in the boolcroom. ll New Library and Bookroom Activate More Study Washington's library opened its doors in October for the anxious Colonials. Extensive remodeling had not been com- pleted during the summer. Students were attracted by the cheerful atmosphere that the light-coloredwoodwork and furniture created. Flower arrange ments made the library even more attractive. The beautiful mural depicting Oregon'shistory stood out for all to admir e. This large mural, painted by student artists, was completed two years ago. With the addition of more books, two typewriters, a phono- graph, records, and film strips, the library serves more needs than before. While students gather in the library for study and research, Mrs. Rahmes, the librarian, and Mrs. Lawrence, the library secretary, keep order among thebooks and the students.
