Hit hard by ineligibility and illness, the team was still able to sal- vage five wins and press their opponents closly, losing several games by only one point or by very close scores. The original starting unit, including four seniors, Art'Pierce, Bob Marson, Bob Minor, and Doug Hatton, and one junior, john Lindgren, was so decimated thatby thelast ga.me of the season, only two of these five players suited up and played, The reserves, Dave Duncan, Daryl Stone, Bill Candee, and John Sherman, replaced the missing players and developed admirably. Many of them, however, were also haunted by individual ailmenls. Individual honors were received by several members of this yea.r's team. Art Pierce, high scorer i.n the city at midseason, won a place on the second team all-city, despite the fact that he was out of ac- tion for the last three weeks of the season. Honored by their team- mates were Marson and Hatton, who were selected as the team's most valuable players.
