Office Secretaries Function Efficiently M's. Margaret Baumann The office secretaries keep Washington High running smoothly. They check attendance of students, teachers, and substitutes, issuing emergency excuses, tardies, and cuts whennecessary. The secretaries type letters for Mr. Skinner, the vice principals, and the counsel- ors, and answer other letters which do not require a personal reply. Credits of all students are recorded in the office and transcripts are sent to the colleges for the seniors. There are many reports, such as grad- uation lists and the principal's reports, which must be compiled. Filing and transferring telephone messages consume much of the secretaries' time. These tasks are onlyafew of the many duties which the office staff performs efficiently. MS- M9-When? Huston Mrs. Harriette Miller
