H O N O R AWARDS ACTIVITY CUP-The activity cup is the highest honor that can be bestowed upon a graduating senior. It symbolizes outstanding qualities ot re- sponsibility, scholarship, and leadership both in school and in extracurricular activities. This year the tour students who received the honor were IO ANN HARRIS, GLENN LEE, ANN EBERLE, and RICHARD COSTL DRAMATICS CUP-Upon the death ot Iohn Alden, a talented dramatic student in May ot 1942, the class ot that year presented a dramatics award to the school to be given annually to two members of the graduating class who were outstanding in the field ot drama. The two members ot the 1953 grad- uating class receiving the award were ADALENE OLDEN and DAN GOLD. ATHLETIC CUP-The six outstanding athletes dur- ing the past year at Washington who received the athletic cup are ED DAVIS and KEN PIERCE, football, RICHARD COSTI, basketballg DE MAR BATCHELOR, baseball, and LARRY SINCLAIR and CHARLES WILBUR, track. SCHOLARSHIP CUP-The two graduating seniors ot the l953 class who were recipients of the honor- able Wilbur K. Hood trophy were GLENN LEE and ELEANOR ELSSNER. MUSIC CUP-IO ANN LE MAR and PAUL MOSHER received the music cup for exceptional work in the field of music. IOURNALISM CUP-SUE SCHWIND received the journalism cup.
