Dedicated to . . . E it R OS E S To Portland, Oregon, the city that lives in a mythical kingdom ot roses tor one week in lune of each year, We proudly dedicate this publication. The rose, which is a symbol of love, typities the spirit of every Portlander all year round and especially during the week that We pay special tribute to it. Like a rose growing within a tertile garden, Portland lies nestled in a valley sur- rounded by towering mountains, crystal clear lakes and rushing rivers. We are very proud to live in this city and to dedicate our yearbook to it.

WINDNAGLE It was with the deepest regret that the students and faculty of Washington High School had to say goodbye to Vere Windnagle, vice principal, near the end of the first term of school this year. Although we are saddened by his departure, we look with pride upon his advancement as coordinator of school buildings and equipment with the Portland public schools. ' A member of the 1912 graduating class of Washington High School, Mr. Windnagle compiled an enviable record both academically and in athletics.
