Ingrid Carlson Ianet Wick Eleanor Colwell Marilyn Coulter Girls' League -- Fall '4 During the tall term, the Girls' League of Washington High School sponsored many activities, the most outstanding of which was the annual Girls' League Week, October 26-29, Melita Piazza was crowned queen ot the League at the tradi- tional assembly on October 28. ln addition, birthday cards were sent monthly to the children at the Shriners hospital. Shannon Stirnwiess Bob Skene Paul Byhre Eddie Caldwell Boys' League -- Spring '19 The spring L49 Boys League Council accepted as its purpose the promotion of the interests of boys at Washington. An effort was made to present a well-rounded program of activities that would appeal to all boys. lntramural athletic programs were planned and carried out, Boys who did not play on organized school teams were given the opportunity to participate in intramural contests. Winning teams and individuals have their pictures in the Lens. A conference was held for junior and senior boys in the Portland area. They met with representatives of the state and independent colleges. Problems of entering college and adjusting to campus life were discussed. This was the first time such a conference for bovs was held. The Boys' League Week was held in April. lt was climaxed by an assembly put on in conjunction with the Girls' League, Throughout the term, special emphasis was placed upon partie cipation. Everyone was given the opportunity to sign up for com- mittee work. lffanj: boys took advantage of this opportunity and it was through their efforts in helping to organize and plan activities as well as to participate that the Bo '4.' s League was enabled to have a most successful term ff?
