V- Whiley Dahl Hurry Brown Buddy Clay Boys' League -- Fall '48 Since its organization in the spring ol 1948, the Boys League has rapidly become an integral part of Washington High School. During the fall of l948, under the competent leadership oi President Bob Stoll, the organization embarked upon a tars reaching program which projected its influence not only to all boys of Washington, but to the entire student body as well. On the eve ot Thanksgiving vacation, a semi-formal dance was held in the gymnasium. Bob Hughs and Bob Wheeless, as members ol the Boys' League, entertained during the inter- mission with several novelty numbers with trumpet and drums. Bruce Vester and lerry Wells, co-chairman of the dance, were largely responsible tor the success of the venture, which prom- ises to become an annual event in the years to come. The Christmas season was made considerably brighter lor many of the men in the Veterans' Hospital when they received candy-filled Christmas stockings, the Boys' League was one ol several school groups which took part in this program. Un- doubtedly the most commendable project of the fall term was the regular visitation of two handicapped boys. With projects such as these, there can be no question as to the importance of an organization of this type, it has amply proved itself and has given promise ol even greater things to come, o Lyons Wheelus Denney KoGPk9
