6' h X k x S fzf' eme: J 52 Colors: Blue and Ye Senior Class of inqton Hiqh School Appreciation The editors of this publication would like to express their sincere appreciation to the faculty advisors, Mrs. Robinson, Miss Oberg, and Mr. Green. Without the help and guidance which they have given so unselfishly, this Lens could not have been published. To Mr. Bridges, the printer, Mr. Peterson, the en- graver, and Mr. Simon, the photographer, and the many students who have helped to make this publica- tion a success go our thanks for their continuous and excellent help. Dedication lt is the years ot adolescence that determine what kind of adults the high school students will become. They are formative years, years spent in Work, study, and lun. As We graduate we leave behind us a phase of life which we will never again know. We hope to face the problems and responsibilities of adulthood with the same undaunted spirit and enthusiasm with which we have faced the problems of adolescence. It is to the memory of our Teen Age that we dedicate the Iune '47 edition of the Lens. , ' f Y Q 55 1 r Q ku Vq V V . il ' 31 2. Q 5 v 5 XX 6 . V 1 wwf 1 ? P' if i v A' '1 Mr. Smith The task of Mri Smith, our principal, is the supervision of a group of students Whose number is greater than the popula- tion oi many Oregon towns. The capable execution oi this enormous job, however, is but one ot his many services for which the class of June '47 Wishes to express its gratitude. A genuine interest in the students' Welfare, and the ability to understand the viewpoints and problems of students secure for him such respect and friendship as enable him to inculcate the principles and ideals necessary for the purposes of education. Mr. Windnagle The members of the Iune '47 class wish to express to Mr. Windnagle their deep ap- preciation and sincere gratitude for his con- tinuous and effectual Work in their behalf. They gratefully recognize his sympathetic understanding and firm guidance. The attitude diffused through the school organ- ization, produces the superior spirit for which Washington High School is known. Miss Ohmert lt is difficult to realize that a large group, such as the Washington High School Student Body, consists of individuals, each having distinct problems of environment and per- sonality. These problems are solved by the Wise counsel and careful guidance of Miss Ohmert, Dean of Girls, who is in a large part responsible for the adjustment of the dife ficulties of her many students, both the boys and the girls. For Miss Ohmert's active ine terest, guidance, friendliness and cooperae tion, the members of the lune '47 class wish to express their sincerest appreciation. MRS. RICE MISS SYKES MISS REID OFFICE STAFF The lune closs of '47 wishes to dediccrte this poge to the hord- working office stczff of the school, Miss Sykes, Mrs, Rice, ond Miss Reid. Although efficiently performing or vitcxl service to the school, they ore never too lousy to give friendly ossistonce to the individ- uctl student. We wish to thank three of the best friends who con be found ot Woshington High School for their grolcious help. t LIBRARY One of the most frequently used and up-tofdate facilities of Washington High School is the library, which functions under the very capable supervision of Miss Lancefield. This indispensable department of the school fulfills a great need of the students in helping to build the foundation of their education. During all study periods and also before and after school exe pert assistance and excellent reference material may be procured in the library. The graduating class of lune '47 wishes to thank Miss Lance' field for the role she has played in assisting us to achieve a high school education. X t - ids f Ti . .tj MR.
