Miss Hilda Lancefield. the Student Council completed another successful term. The council was organ- ized in 1925 by our present advisor, Nliss Laneefield. The purpose of this worthy organization is to reduce. if not to stop. the loss ol' books from our library. It is amaz- ing to find that the loss of books has decreased from more tllan one hundred and fifty a term in 1925 to about fifteen a term at the present. Y l The Student Council is a representative organization. eoln- posed of the presidents of the major clubs, the editors ol' the Washingtonian and the Lens. and several ineinbers cho- sen at large. Locker and room searches are made five times a year, and by this systematic routine books are found and returned to the Library. Wlitrii the council finds a lost 'L library book, a trial is held of the person in possession of the given book. The penalty is usually a fine. This or- J ganization has been very sueeessful in its thirteen years of existence. and will undoubtedly continue to be so in the future.
