Each year the Washingtonian brings to mind happy memories of wonderful high school days, teams and games, study and fun, pageants, vodvils, assemblies, classes and friendships — all vital spokes in the whirling wheel of high school life that spins along the well-worn and familiar path of education. Since this Washingtonian will be in years to come a lasting remembrance of and a tribute to your days at Washington High, we, the class of ' 48 , designed a yearbook which gives a realistic picture of the school year through photos and write-ups and has artistic relief through cartoons and still-lifes based on an Oriental theme. This Washingtonian was designed for you, and the staff presents it with the sincere hope that it will bring you as much pleasure and pride as it brought us in creating it.
