Organized for the primary purpose of bringing the girls together with feelings of unity and friendliness, the league consists of all the girls at school from the moment they enter, to the day of their graduation. The league, which was founded in 1919 by Miss E. Marie Sanholt, was temporarily discontinued in 1944 because of war conditions. In 1945 ' he league was again organized. The league began ' lany activities this year by wel¬ coming the Freshm .n girls at Big-Little Sister Day. On December 4, in cooperation with the Washington Union High P.-T. A., the Girls ' League sponsored the football dinner honoring the football squads. Throughout the year, a number of vocational speakers have given interesting talks to the girls. The treasury was enlarged this year by the selling of Washingtonian transfers. These activities, under the supervision of the Dean of Girls, Miss Knoles, were planned and carried out under the leadership of Dorothy Costa, president; Catherine Veverious, vice-president; Mary Abel, secretary; and Diane Ferraris, treasurer. The committee chairmen were: Joan Berney, Ways and Means; Barbara Furtado, Hospi¬ tality; and Mary Goularte, Program. GIRL ' S LEAGUE MISS KNOLES. D. COSTA TOP ROW. left to right; A. Aguiar, M.
