DAVE PRIEGO KATHERINE VIVEIROS LEONARD SMITH SENIORS • 1947 CORA PEREZ LESLIE HALLIDAY TOMMY CARDENAS On the Sunday of June 15. 1947, connnnencement exercises were held for 131 gradu¬ ates of Washington Union High School. This nunnber includes six nnembers of our class who are in the services and I I Evening High School members. The Senior Class will look back through the years to this day v hich marked the end of four glorious years. The Seniors started the year off with a bang and In October, 1946, they had their first Sneak Day. This Sneak Day was an extra one given to them by Pop Gould, for their good sportsmanship in eliminating Scrub Day. During the last semester, the Seniors were hosts to the eighth graders. An inkling of what the future Freshmen would encounter next year was illustrated by the Student Body assembly given in their honor by the Seniors. Senior assembly, a highlight of Senior Week, was an opportunity for the Seniors to bid Pop, the Faculty, and the kids a farewell deep from the heart. On June I 5, 1947, the Seniors untied their diplomas, dabbed at those ever persisting terms, and waved goodbye to their dear old alma mater. Our wholehearted thanks and appreciation go to our advisors: Mrs. Nelson, Mr. Hirk, Mr. Thornburg, Mr. Cxborrow, Mrs. Hartsog, Mrs. Souza, Mrs. Smith and last but cer¬ tainly not least, Pop, for the help and assistance they have given to make our four years at W.U.H.S. truly unforgettable ones. 13
