Mixed Chorus, with a membership of 60, filled the halls during the morning hours with harmony at Wasluington High. Under the direction of Miss McNally, they performed for Thanksgiving Vespers, sang in con- junction with the townmenis chorus for the Christmas program and gave a Spring concert. The highlight of the year was the participation in the annual Quad-City Music Festival held this Spring in Storm Lake, con- ducted by Mrs. McCanlogue of Cornell College. CHEROKEE CAPERS This fund raising variety program, by the music department, was held December 7 and 8, 1953. The traditional Linger Awhilei' opened the program in the Wfilson auditorium. Emcee Charles Stiles, attired in a black tuxedo, humorously presented each different act. Outstanding in the show was a pantomine of the famed Little Blue Riding Hood acted by a group of sophomore girls. A standing joke between Bones the Bum CPaul Andersonj and the emcee brought rounds of laughter from the audience and a surprise piano solo from Bones. Emcee Stiles sang his rendition of Poor Little Robin accompanied on his ukulele. A group of senior girls presented School Daysv, a reminicent act of the highlights of their thirteen years of school. The show ended with the traditional I'll See You In My Dreamsv. ...gg-

Educational Trips Mr. Lundy went with a group of seniors to Spencer to attend some meetings on activity advisement. Barbara Wallace and Lee Ann Anderson worked with others interested in high school newspapersg Shirley Lauer and Betty McKenzie, school annualsg and LaVon Peck, student council activities. Mr. Christopherson, Mr. Luther, and members of their social problems classes visit the State Mental Health Institute in Cherokee and the State Penitentiary in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
