The Student Council members plan many social events during the school year which include the Homecoming dance fwith the football squad or advisorsl, the Christmas dance, and W. P. A. Week iWomen Pay Alll. The selection of the council is made by a direct vote of the student body with the president of each class automatically becoming a member. The council has twelve members, each of whom serves for one year. Student Council President, Keith Winsorg was elected by the student body at large. Probably the busiest person of the group is the chief librarian who takes care of new and old magazines and keeps the book shelves tidy. At their meetings they plan the best library procedures and discuss problems which have arisen since their last meeting. Several times during the year they have parties and get-togethers--just for fun. Usually the final meeting of the year is a trip to a college or university where a conductor explains the working of a great library. This trip ends with a picnic at a nearby city park. The purpose of the V-Club is for the furtherance of athletics in the Vinton School. To make it more of an honor to wear the V awarded for the participation in athletics is a further purpose of this organization. The V-Club is responsible, itself, for the printing and distribution of the pocket-size schedules which are presented to the public each year, free of cost.
