PRESENT FUTURE The emblem around which we stand represents Washington High School. As individuals we represent the peoples of the world; as a group we are united for these purposes: learning, getting along with others, and preparing for the future.

Mr. Thomas V. Altenderfer Through more than 50 years Washington High School has helped students of many lands and many homes learn for school and life. And we have been proud of the results. Our students have gone into the mills and shops to become good breadwinners for fine families. They are craftsmen and foremen and supervisors. Many have gone on into the professions. They are lawyers and clergymen and doctors and teachers and engineers. Some have risen to excellent positions: civic leaders, a bank president, a former Assistant Secretary of War, a prominent movie actor, an outstanding textile designer. Our students have done well in the past. Washington High looks towards the future with pleasure. We know that as our students and teachers work together the same success will come.
