v lu- - This is the senior class of l95U as freshmen. Can you remember how our hearts pounded every Thursday night as we went into the elementary school gym to learn the l-2 step from Miss Kopko? The five foot four girls were lined up on one side of the room and the four foot five boys on the other, This was the preparation for our first big activity in high school - the Freshman Party. This was the climax, the supreme moment when We walked in with our first high school date. Do you recall the embarrassment of the first turnabout dance when it was up to the girl to pick her partner? How afraid you were to ask your secret thrill because he would find out about your crush? So you asked his best buddy, who probably became your steady . And now We are seniors S the years have been short and beautiful. The dancing is over, and we are walking home, hand in hand, with tears in our eyes and trust in our hearts. lt has been a Wonderful four year party. We had our failures and profited by them, we had our triumphs and reveled in them. Now we have the future, and No matter what tomorrow brings W the heart inside me sings that these have been the best years of our lives. . . . World Conquering Schemes

RS OF OUR LIVES . . . AT WORK We will do our best to turn out an excellent yearbook, and we will co-operate with each other in order to achieve this goal. This is the contract the Senior Anvil Staff made with the school and the senior class. Suppose we peek into room 213-A and catch our Anvil Staff at work. That nervous, young woman running up and down our l9'x6' office happens to be Violet Vlahinich, the editor. Violet has assumed the responsibility of seeing that all the work is in before the deadlines . . . and its no easy Job. V' l ts heels is Luellen Simbalmos. Luellen is the managing editor Following close at io e and supervises the work of the advertising and subscription staffs. l-leading the advertising staff is Lillian Logan. Lillian and her staff have been making the lives of the merchants miserable until they have bought a space in our Anvil. ln one corner of the room we seem to see little yellow slips and dollar bills flying around. No cause for excitement, its only Leona Antonian and Catherine Spoljaric, the subscription editor and assistant, planning their campaign to sell thousands and thous- ands of Anvils. That isn't machinery you hear, its the overworked brains of our literary editors, Rose Marie Galosich and Carolyn Myren. They have charge of all the write-ups, and it seems to be wearing them out. Walking around with a dazed look on her face is Rose Marie Spudick, the secretary- treasurer. lf you listen closely, you can hear her mumbling something like this - checks for this company, receipt to Mr. So CS So, must get that letter out- poor Hose. Banging away on the typewriter is Marie Skertic. Ready to take over when she col- lapses is Mary Ann Nallenweg, and when shes done for, theres always Ruth Blanken- ship. This is our production staff. By the way, Mary Ann Nallenweg is also assistant editor of the Weekly Anvil. ' ' H ' S' I-lo an Bent over his drawing board is the Rembrant of the Anvil Staff. eis im g , the art editor. Squeezed just inside the door are Minnie Morgan and Art Meyers, our sport editors. E t for a few gray hairs, we're none the worse for wear. But Well, that s your sta xcep how well we've done our job . . . thats up too youll! We did our best.
