Rob- inson was elected by the Board of Education to succeed him as principal of Washington. Among the many duties which the principal is responsible for are making out the program of studies for the school ordering supplies for the school prepar ing the financial reports for the various departments making recommendations for the employment of graduates and pre paring transcripts of credits for the higher branches of learning A great many problems some little others of great import ance must be faced by the principal Because one man cannot personally carry out all of the important duties Mr Robinson has had as his assistants Mr C E Kellam and Mr H E Walley Mr Kellam serves as the dean of boys and chairman of the ath letic and the social committees Mr Walley has complete charge of the daily attendance and also plans all of the assembly pro grams and other school productions Miss Kate DePew is tne dean of girls The health of the students is another important factor in the school and a clinic is provided for the students of Washington High School with a school doctor and nurse who give examina tions to all of the students participating in physical education and varsity sports Tile nurse administers first aid to students who need such service and also confirms excuses of pupils due to sickness Dr Vore the school physician is the medical advisor for all of the public schools in the Twin City Dr Vore has been employed by the Board of Education since the fall of l9Z7 and has very effectively kept the students in the best of health Miss J Skafish is the school nurse ln addition to keeping close check on the health of the high school students she has similar duties in the elementary building The office staff also aids the principal in many ways They take charge of all records clerical work and other important duties relating to the schools affairs and business The office staff includes Miss Mary Muir registrar and chief of staff and the assistants are Miss Donna Mcl-laley and Miss Ruth Walthers D IVIcHALEY M MUIR R WALTHERS J SKAFISH Nurse R F ROBINSON Principal 5 v 5 H E WALLEY Administrative Vice Principal Y C E KELLAM Executive Vice Principal Obs K DE PE Dean of Girls 9 . ALL-COLORED PLAY EVER SINCE EVE The fifth annual all-color- ed cast play was Ever Since Eve . lt is a comedy of youth, by Florence Ryerson and Colin Clements, and is a mirthful story of Susan Blake, a career girl , and the troubles which beset those two loyal muslqeteers, Johnny Clover and Spud Er- win, editor and business manager of the Preston High School Penquin, when Susan high-pressures herself into the position of assistant edi- tor.
