Albion High School has been exrremely lorlunale 'lor The pasl live years in having such a man in Philip Sleen. The inilialion ol musical produclions has been a major conlribulion by Mr. Sreen. Under his direc- lion such celebraled hils as The Mikado, Good News, Plain and Fancy. and Carousel, were produced. Abolishing lhe Girls' Glee Club and forming Three separale choirs has been anolher maior change insliluled by him. Such an aclion was necessary ro provide an opporlunily for all lhe in- leresled sludenls lo ioin choir. lvlr. Sleen, in his shorl career al Albion, also inilialed a Boys' Glee Club and direcled 'rhe Ensemble. Born in Lalayerle, lndiana, lvlr. Sleen allendecl grade school and high school on The campus of Weslern Michigan Universily, where his lalher is a professor. l-le earned his Bachelors and lvlaslers degree ar Weslern. An avid sporls fan, lvlr. Sleen also lalces inleresl in lhearer arls, all forms ol music, and people in general.
