And what would be more appropmate than to ded1cate our school year 1n rev1ew to Mr W1ll1am Os I-Iarton who has been the fr1endly and competent pr1nc1pal of Alb1on Hlgfl School for 31 years and 1S ret1r1ng at the end of th1S school year Mr Harton who 1S avnatlve of Albion 1S a graduate of th1s h1gh school and Alb1on College After graduat1on he taught at several schools and served ID the armed forces In 1922 he jomed the Alb1on h1gh faculty as a h1story and econ onucs mstructor Three years later he was promoted to pr1nc1pal and has held that pos1t1on ever s1nce A pronfunent c1t1zen 111 CIVIC and rel1g1ous affa1rs Mr Harton has served as Amer1can Leglon chapla1n for several years and was an early presldent of the Alb1on Rotary Club At the present tlme he 1S cha1rman of the off1c1al board of the Method1st Church He has alscbeen a d1rector of the Commerclal and Sav1ngs Bank for f1fteen years and IS currently pres1dent of the Homestead Savmgs and Loan Assoc1at1on Formerly he was an Alb1on College Alumm Pres1dent As you see our prmclpal IS an outstandlng and mdustnous person who has truly worked for the betterment and welfare of our school and csmmumty and lughly deserves th1S honor of ded1cat1on 0 . . . .. . 0- . - . -Q 1 Q . . . - . . , , - .
