ZZW The School Board, elected by the citizens of Albion for a period of three years, serves as the governing body of the Public School System. This group composed of Albion taxpayers acts upon the recommendations of the superintendent and determines our school policies. ozloerinfenafenf For the past eleven years Mr. George Walkotten has served as Superintendent of the Albion Public Schools. Acting as the executive ollicer of the School Board, he has worked hard and made many improve- ments by which all the students have prof- ited. He proposes the budget for the opera' tion of the school system, acts as purchas- ing agent, employes teachers, custodians, and other employees, prepares school re- ports for the School and State Boards, recommends new textbooks, and makes curriculum changes if necessary.

omior ,Mg rincnyoa As Junior High Principal, Mr. Harry Williams, job is varied. He is responsible for the organization of Junior High activ- ities, handles discipline cases, and visits elementary schools to give information to those who will soon be entering Junior High. He also acts as the public relations representative from the Junior High to various clubs and groups. To most people this job would be suf' ficient, but for Mr. Williams, who likes to work with young people, it isn't enough. He is also Albion's Director of Recreation. endow ,Mg rilfwnyoa In the twenty-six years that Mr. William Harton has held the position of Washing- ton Cardncr High School Principal, he has worked hard in organizing and managing the school system so that every member of the faculty is being used efficiently to pro- vide the best possible educational oppor- tunities for the students. All of us, teachers as well as students, who have worked or have come in contact with him, appreciate and respect Mr. Harton. Page
