Clansman Richard Atterberry headed the student council as president and was assisted by fellow pioneers, Donaline Sundstrom, Burtis Meyer, and Alan Keck. Burtis Meyer reigned over the annual homecoming round-up as queen. Our novel float featuring Borgman, Schuck, and a guillotine won second prize for us. We had many able and experienced '49 men to help us to march on to victory on the gridiron and basketball court. During the final weeks of our Journey we stopped in one of the frontier towns and entertained the other pioneers with a play. While stopped, the surveyors treated us to a banquet and prom. Then we contended on our journey through semester exams to one of our last stops Baccalaureate. Then our final destination graduation. Weary of traveling over the trails and mountains, we bade our last farewell to Fort W.C.H.S. and boarded ship to take a glorious four day cruise on the Great Lakes. Page 14
