As God only knows future events with certainty, no being but God, or some person informed by Him, can utter a REAL prophecy. So. my classmates. if Fate should have better things in store for you than my mind alone dictates, remember I do not claim to be a REAL seer nor yet a gypsy fortune teller. Coming events cast their shadows before, and however illy defined those shadows may be, upon them only can the human mind depend in order to foretell with the least degree of certainty the workings of fate. I was sitting one evening in the wood and twilight gray had in her sober livery all things clad g silence accompanied, and my thoughts reverted to my school-days now almost over : each of my classmates were in turn presented to my mind and his face and characteristics impressed upon my memory.
