HISTORY. Alas! it has begun! Not the history, for the date of its beginning is unknown g but the writing of the history of the class of '95, Oh 2 how I should pity Freemen or Momnisen if they were the objects upon which a Senior editor might vent his wrath for their laziness and negligence tif they had anyj, as one has been doing for the past month upon the historian of our class. At the present time our number is twelve, eleven gentlemen and one lady, this one representative of the fair sex being the first to graduate at Vtfashington College. Some have witnessed all the horrors and fears of 'Prepdom 5 some have first learned to wield the brush among the freshiesf' and some have dropped down, on a cool September day, as if from some haven of knowledge, and wit never before heard from, and distinguished from other Sophs by their exceeding Freshness, while others not a great number hailed us on our onward course from the Junior boat of knowledge, which had evidently become too learned or too tough. But at the same time, while some entered our ranks from other classes, still not a few have quit us, either on account of affairs which demanded their undivided attention in the lower classes or from a desire to better develop their faculties by seeking a broader field for their applications. Behold the records of the class of 'H5 Z You will not have to look at the record books to see that this class excels all others, but ls

look on the athletic records. the base-ball and foot-ball fields. the tennis court and every other kind of athletics. and you will behold great achievements accomplished by '95, which will be handed down to posterity. In the demerit book we can justly claim the highest records. Yes, we are an unfortunate set of beings, to be compelled to suffer the pains, and to swallow the medicine intended for others. VVe stand a bulvvark of defence to the Freshies and 25ophs in those hours when a hundred is staring them in the face or when 'ibay nags cannot be had on this side of the Atlantic to alleviate the pressure on the brain. I would tell you. my dear readers, how we combined with the Wise men Q25 wiped off the base-ball field the Freshies andCpJuniors5 in days to come. but l am not allowed to predict. so you can only surmise our victory.
