The 5 cheer leader for our team was Jane Snyder. ii 5 Those on the ball team were: Lloyd Ness, Marvin Bennett, Donald Michel, 5 Edgar Kuckuck, and Galen Johnson. Lloyd Ness was a guest at the basketball boys banquet. 5 Our guides taught us Biology, Algebra, English, Home Economics, and Agri- 5 culture. We stopped at Frozen Point for a skating party. 5 5 During the months of May, June, July, and August, the trail was too 5 slippery so we took a much needed rest. 5 In September we started the second lap of our climb. One of our members 5 decided to take a new path marked Sturgis, Michigan. This was Norma Jean 5 Englarth. We picked up another who had wandered in from Andrews. This was Q E Jack Gothard. The climbers for this next peak were: Phil Alexander, Robert 5 Alexander, Mary Anderson, Joan Bell, Marvin Bennett, Carolyn Bonebrake, 5 Patricia Edwards, Hazel Goodrich, Jack Gothard, Clara Ellen Hawn, Lila Heine , g P Helen Hinen, Galen Johnson, Edgar Kuckuck, Donald Michel, Lloyd Ness, Dick Q 'A Parker, Paul Schrader, Jane Snyder, Harold Swartz, and Dick Wolf. Our guides E for the year were: Mr. Norvall Lindley, Mr. Garland Borden, Mr. Paul Keffaber, Miss Mercedes Staples, and Mrs. Leora Kent. We initiated the beginning climbers on September 28, 1944. We gave another skating party, March 20, 1945. Our cheer leader for this year was again Jane Snyder. lgi The ball players wereg Jack Gothard, Marvin Bennett, Galen Johnson, Edgar Kuckuck, Donald Michel , and Lloyd Ness. Again we took four months rest as the trail was getting rough. As we started our third year of our climb, our climbers had dropped to 18 followers. Three of them had decided to take different trails. These being Dick Parker, Marvin Bennett, and Paul Schrader. Two others decided the climb ffgl Qi was too much for them and gave up. This was Harold Swartz and Bob Alexander. We found a newcomer on the trail. This was Donna Jean Hatfield from the Jefferson Center Trail, who decided to Join our expedition. Our climbers of '45 and '46 were: Phil Alexander, Robert Alexander, Mary Anderson, Joan Bell, Q ,Q Carolyn Bonebrake, Patricia Edwards, Hazel Goodrich, Jack Gothard, Donna Hatfield, Clara Ellen Hawn, Lila Heine, Helen Hinen, Galen Johnson, Edgar Kuckuck, Donald Michel, Lloyd Ness, Jane Snyder, and Dick Wolf. Our officers wereg President, Galen Johnson, Vice-President, Lloyd Ness, Secretary, Carolyn Bonebrakeg Treasurer, Lila Heine, Reporter, Jane Snyder, and sponsor, Mrs. Leora Kent. Our guides were: Mr. F. V. Snake, Mr.' Garland Borden, Hrs. Leora Kent, Miss Mercedes Staples and Mr. Paul Keffaber, Mr. Keffaber discovered a new green oasis where he started to farm instead of being a guide. Mr. Harold Zyl Scholl ,replaced him.
