The new teach- 1 V L er Miss Mercedes Pha Staples became sponsor at that time. ' . J f , Some of the things they have done and accomplished during the last seven r' ' Q years are as follows: they attended every State Sunshine Convention with the I exception of one which was due to war transportation, held a district conven- . Q tion at Washington Center in 1940, bought a hospital bed for the use of the 5' public, gave 5100 toward a movie projector for the school, S50 every year to fi the Riley Hospital fund, organized a good cheer committee, and fixed up a rest f room in the school. These are just a few of the things they do every year to f' , benefit other people. For the last five years every girl in high school has , 5. been a member. 4 fi ,, The officers and members at present are: President-Lila Heine, Vice Pres- 1' ident-Pauline Cox, Secretary-Patty Alles, Treasurer-Colleen Miesch. The pre- , I N sent members are: Donna Hatfield Mary Anderson Carolyn Bonebrake Clara Th 1 Ellen Hawn, Jane Snyder, Helen Hinen, Hazel Goodrich, Suzanne Llnhart, Deloris V' J 3, Geeting, Norma Day, Marilyn Fawcett, Wilma Day, Bonnie Holler, Janet Martin, P Q ff Marilyn McCombs, Joan Beerwert, Ann McClain, Barbara Meyers, Margaret Kneller, 5 7, Margaret Stanley Marilyn Enz Marilyn Eberhart Dorothy Hinen Leona p 7 I Alexander, Pat Edwards, Rosalie Miller, Bonnie Beck and Mary Bollinger. 511 f J They hold parties once every month at the home of one of the girls and -' L j consider their organization the best one in Whitley County. M 7 'rw1RLERs J The twirlers and majorettes play a big part in the band and Washington I T 4 Center surely has them. The Majorette is Jane Snyder and her co-workers are L , V Carolyn Bonebrake and Pat Edwards. pi Q ' Besides these, Carolyn Bonebrake directs a trio of twirlers which have I A E 1' twirled at several games. These are the Juillerat sisters, Janet, Janice and -' 1 f - Jarice. .1 1 ' Besides these, Carolyn Bonebrake directs a trip of twirlers which have o r twirled at several games. These are the Juillerat sister, Janet, Janice and ' lL N 5 Jarice. J i' Besides these there is another group under the direction of Joyce Michel 'f A If and Mrs. J. J. Kent. These are Deloris Wince, Patty Juillerat, Judy Montz, - Q 3 Phyllis Wiedenhoeft, Gwendolyn Johnson, Bonnie Kyler, Marsha Bader, Nancy lf' 2 it Bader, Connie Clark, Rosalie Miller, Arnola Graves, and Patty Genth. 15, ,- Q A, The beginners are: LaDonna Ness, Janet Anderson, Arlene Corminy, and f Q, :I Helen Wolf. y' E 1 Boys 4-H 1 . The boys 4-H this year was under the leadership of Harold Scholl and 'iv N prospered very well. Their officers were: President-Lloyd Ness, Vice Presi- 1 E M dent-Galen Johnson, Secretary-Treasurer-Ralph Heine, Reporter-Lila Heine, Song p 3. g - Leaders-Colleen Miesch and Alice Bollinger, Recreational Connnittee-Phil , ' 'r Alexander and Janet Martin. . M Like the girls club they also had Junior Leaders. These were: Phil ' ' 5x Alexander as Junior Leader with Joyce Alexander, Joan Beerwert, .Teddy Bell, M' VV, .gtg Pauline Cox, Rex Hatfield, Virgil Hicks, Dick Miller, and Billy Robbins under 'f' il 3 7 him. Harry Bollinger as Junior Leader with Alice Bollinger, John Bollinger, 1, -jg a A AE, Mary Bollinger, Robert Bonebrake, Wanda Bollinger, Kenneth Gibson, Russell ,fa if + 3 W' 3 Juillerat, and Colleen Miesch under him. Russell Kreider as Junior Leader with -5? - , J T ? Wayne Bennett, Rex Kreider, Paul Dean Kreider, Dick Kreider, and Janet Martin 3 Q ' 3 under him. To get these points.they had to 5 1 take part in the meetings in some way and for which they would get a certain p W: '1j'gff217jgfl?gQ-, 5' amount of points. Kenneth'G1bson had the highest number of points for the L: first year member and Russell Kreider had the highest number for the member of E. :.icsfi3f'gi2'1Q5.f3g 5 more than one year. This was known as their achievement contest. 7' V 1 The club also had judging teams.
