SOCIETIES ECHO STAFF The Echo Staff is the school paper staff made up of high school students under the direction of the Commercial teacher, Miss Mercedes Pha Staples. This is their twenty-fifth year of publishing a school paper semi-monthly. The staff consists of: Editor-in-chief-Jane Snyder, Associate Editor-Charles Richard, Business Manager-Dale Gamble, Circulation Manager-Donald Michel, Literary Editor-Marilyn McCombs, Art Editors-Donna Hatfield, Rudy Bennett, Barbara Meyers, Sports Editors-Jack Gothard, Lynn Kyler, Proof Readers1Shaffer, Heine, Colleen Miesch, Reporters-Alles, Hinen, Alexander, Enz, Typists-Carolyn Bonebrake, Clara Ellen Hawn, Deloris Geeting, Helen Hinen, Mimeograph-Robert Beck, Mary Anderson, Hazel Goodrich, Edgar Kuckuck, Suzanne Linhart, Sorters- Joan Beerwert, Holler, Staples-Mary Bollinger, Marilyn Eberhart, Distributers- B. Beck, Mailing-Marilyn Enz and Norma Day. , Besides putting out a paper for students every two weeks they also mail them to all the boys in service that have graduated from this school. GIRLS GLEE CLUB The Girls Glee Club was organized and officiers were elected in September. They ere: President-Hazel Goodrich, Vice President-Suzanne Linhart, Secretary- Treasurer-Carolyn Bonebrake, News Reporter-Colleen Miesch, Librarians-Janet Martin and Jane Snyder. There are thirty members in the glee club this year. They are: Clara Ellen Hawn, Donna Hatfield, Hazel Goodrich, Carolyn Bonebrake, Jane Snyder, Deloris Geetlng, Marilyn Fawcett, Leona Alexander, Susie Linhart, Pauline Cox, Norma Day, Colleen Miesch, Joan Beerwert, Bonnie Holler, Mary Anderson, Rosalie Miller, Patricia Alles, Marilyn Enz, Marilyn Eberhart, Ann McClain, Bonnie Beck, Janet Martin, Mary Bollinger, Margaret Kneller, Barbara Meyers, Dorothy Hinen, Margaret Stanley, Marilyn McCombs, Wilma Day, and Patricia Edwards. Their director is Mrs. Kent and since they have put on an operetta they are eager to participate also in a Spring Festival. BOYS GLEE CLUB The Boys Glee Club was organized this year with Mrs J T Kent as direc tor Their officiers were elected and are as follows President Edgar Kuckuck Vice President-Dale Gamble, Secretary Treasurer-Chuck Richard Librarian-Jack Gothard and News Reporter Kenneth Bauer The other members of the club are Bob Beck, Lynn Kyler Joe Shaffer, Dick Kreider, David Genth, Robert Bonebrake Walter Trier Walter Trabert, Emmett Anderson, Rex Hatfield, Richard Goings, Jim Ray, and Jim Kneller So far there are 18 members but they hope to increase They joined in with the girls to present an operetta called 'Polished Pebbles' and will take part in the spring festival BAND BOOSTER ORGALIZQTION The Band Booster Organization was organized to aid and help the band with their funds It is under the direction of parents whose children are in the band Their officiers this year are President-Edward Ness, Vice President Theron Pberhsrt, Secretary and Treasurer-Mrs Paul Linhart The main thing which they have been doing for the last four years as a means of raising funds is sponsoring a cake walk These cake walks are given ln the washington Center Gym, with the band playing for the walks Each year they have taken the money they have raised and added some new instrument to the other instruments which they have already purchased for the band The Band Boosters are very important in the life of the band GIRLS 4-H Thi year w s an eventful and extremely uccessful one for the 4-H girls There were forty-seven enrolled and all but one of them completed their work The President of the Club was Donna Enz Vice President, Hazel Goodrich Secretary-Treasurer Marilyn Fawcett Song Leader, Suzanne Linhart Recreation Leader, Carolyn Bonebrake News-reoorter, Alice Bollinger and Pauline Cox was the nealtn instructor Miss Mercedes Pha Staples, a very energetic and capable worker was the adult leader She had four girls th t helped her as Junior Leaders with four able a sistants The Baking Junior leader was Alice Bollinger assisted by I l Q Z Q Q N Ely' VMBMNNW NPSA NNN!
